Charleston Community Theatre will return to the Tarble Arts Center this fall for our 45th season! We have a very special season planned, and we hope you will again choose to be a patron of CCT, helping us bring high-quality theatrical productions to area audiences.

The Actor's Nightmare and The Real Inspector Hound will open our 2008-09 season on Halloween night. In The Actorís Nightmare, we find George living ìthe actorís nightmare to its fullest and most uncomfortable measure. Squirms are guaranteed! The Real Inspector Hound is a murder-mystery comedy that pays homage to Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians. Cathy Sheagren, a newcomer to CCT, but by no means new to directing will direct. The production dates are Oct. 31 2008 -Nov. 2 2008 and Nov. 6 2008 -Nov. 8 2008

The Women, Monica Mazzaro (The Laramie Project) will return to direct our winter production, slated for Jan. 23-25 2009 and Jan. 29-31 2009. Her production will be The Women, by Clare Boothe Luce. The Women is a classic piece of American theatre, featuring an all-female cast of approximately 20 actors playing over 40 roles. Clare Boothe Luce, carries us through a number of varied scenes and shows us not only a somewhat unflattering picture of womanhood, but digging under the surface, reveals a human understanding for and sympathy with some of its outstanding figures. The plot involves the efforts of a group of women to play their respective roles in an artificial society that consists of vain show, comedy, tragedy, hope and disappointment.

Two Miles a Penny

Our audiences are in for a real treat April 3, 4, and 5 2009 , as Broadway veteran and Lincoln-lore enthusiast Ed Trotta brings his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln to Buzzard Auditorium in Two Miles A Penny. Trotta will play Lincoln, traveling from the past to speak to us about present times. Trottaís Lincoln also discusses his personal struggles and national honors, and reflects on several notable Americans from our more recent past.

Your patronage has been instrumental in helping us produce such high quality live-theatre, helping us defray the costs of production rights, lighting, sound, sets, scripts, costumes, props and so much more. We look forward to your patronage again this season. 2008-09 season tickets are now available; please see the enclosed order form. We look forward to your support as we begin our 45th season.
